Colonization Practices, at their core, are all about the domination over and discrimination against various classes of people. And the two primary examples of these Practices are slavery and race. It may be hard to separate slavery and race because they seem to be two sides of the same ‘colonization coin’. They play-off one another, and are complementary Colonization Practices. Thoughts and actions based on race many times are used as a justification for slavery. Slavery is the proper status for certain races according to some individuals, corporations and/or governments. Race is the excuse used by significant portions of the general public in ignoring the inhumanity of slavery.
The following articles will briefly discuss these two major cultural issues and how they were incorporated into colonization efforts during and after the colonization discovery era. Although there is some cross referencing, in general, each article is an independent statement about a particular subject, person, or issue.
